Youth Activities Staff
Top 5 • Interact with and supervise all children participating in Youth Activities programs, ages 3-17 years, by providing an emotionally and physically safe environment so children of all ages will enjoy themselves • Assist in the set-up for all facilitated activities and execute clean-up duties upon completion of program; monitor audio and lighting needs as needed • Assist with the cleaning and sanitizing of spaces and objects, before, during, and after the facilities open; keep all spaces tidy during operating hours • Provide registration/check-in/check-out services for Guests in children’s spaces on the ship and Castaway Cay; operate multiple computer programs • Prepare food trays for children during meal or snack times Job Responsibilities • Provide program support and assistance by partnering with the Entertainment Host team • Facilitate and present small-scale activities independently or with other Youth Counselors, as needed • Perform meet–and-greet functions in the Oceaneer’s Club and Oceaneer’s Lab for children and parents on embarkation day Includes tour of facilities, overview of programs, and sign-up of children for programs • Assist in facilitation of adult or family activities as scheduled; may include welcome line, game shows, crowd control, hosting a lounge, bingo, Port Adventures dispatch or related • Assist in recreational activities on Castaway Cay as scheduled; may include boat rental, snorkel rental, and snorkel instruction • Function as a Nursery Counselor as necessary Required/Desired: Experience,Qualifications, Education, Licenses: • Minimum two years recent work experience working with children in a recreational, day care, or camp setting • Schooling in recreation ,education, or related field of study preferred • High energy, spirited self-motivated individual with ability to entertain children • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills; detail oriented; customer-service oriented • Microphone experience preferred • Ability to be proactive and be able to spontaneously entertain high volumes of children in the absence of planned activities • Relates well to audiences of all ages and sizes. Strong teamwork skills, detailed, flexible and committed to guest satisfaction • Must be able to command the attention of large groups of children • Bilingual or multilingual abilities a plus • Passion for engaging children in entertaining programs and events • Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate a sense of urgency when serving guests • Must be adaptable and flexible in an ever-changing environment • Experience working with special needs children a plus • Good comprehension of the importance of following and maintaining health and sanitation guidelines
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience in all positions
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must be able to read and write English.
