Youth Activities Manager

• Oversee the day to day operation of Youth Activities, the programs and the products for infants and children, ages 12 weeks through 17 years, while providing leadership, coaching and development for all direct reports

• Oversee the daily operation of all onboard and island Youth events, spaces and maintenance

• Provide leadership for the Youth Activities team to meet all safety and regulatory requirements as per specified

Job Responsibilities

• Communicate with Cruise Director and shore side Entertainment Operations Director regarding consistency of operation between ships, show quality, Crew scheduling, team performance, etc.

• Partner with shore side Entertainment Operations Director, Recruiting and Scheduling regarding returning Crew and future openings • Manage performance and show-related issues, including procedures & quality • Manage onboard Youth Activities operational budget • Maintain on-the-job training plan, ensuring a solid curriculum is in place • Monitor integrity and standards of conduct within department • Continually evaluate Guest feedback; address Guest concerns and/or suggestions; proactively lead team to handle all Guest recovery situations • Identify opportunities to take Youth Activities to a new level; work with ship/shore teams to continue to raise the bar on programs for infants, toddlers, children, and teens • Identify and help to develop/implement new programs, refreshing existing ones and introducing “wow” experiences ship wide and on Castaway Cay • See that systems are in place to maintain appropriate inventory levels • Represent Youth Activities in all discussions regarding Company or ship policies and procedures • Establish and maintain a good relationship and strong communications with other departments • Partner with Marketing/Promotions and onboard departments to plan and execute special events • Adhere to United States Public Health (USPH) policies while ensuring Crew are trained and policies managed • Facilitate department meetings

• Provide leadership for all direct reports; Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ?? Managing personnel files ?? Conducting performance reviews, including discipline as needed ?? Ensuring Project Onboard compliance ?? Monitoring STAR, while making necessary corrections ?? Onboard training, new hire and ongoing ?? Succession planning ?? Crew recognition and communication

Required/Desired: Experience, Qualifications, Education, Licenses

•Minimum three-five years previous leadership experience in a related field; proven experience leading and motivating a team

• Minimum four years in a recreational/leisure programming operation

• Prior experience in camp and/ore recreational setting, preferred

• College degree or related schooling associated with recreation, education, entertainment, or related field of study preferred

• Ability to organize and prioritize team goals

• Ability to be flexible, self-motivated, handle multiple demands, stay calm under pressure and resolve issues quickly

• Commitment to delivering superior Guest Satisfaction and service

• Keen sense for business with proven ability to manage budget

• Strong presentation, communication and organizational skills

• Receptive to CPR and other related safety training while employed with DCL

This position has the following requirements that must be met by all applicants:

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must be able to read and write English.
